Following the invitation of Abu Dhabi University’s International Workshop with a small delegation from Vienna, we kept learning from each others culture and heritage in the midst of an oasis in the Al Qattara Arts Centre while working on a communal project.

Workshop in traditional building techniques in arid climates in Esfahak | 2019
The small village of Esfahak was destroyed by an earthquake in 1978. Since 2014, the historic clay houses are being restored.
I had the honor to join a small team of architects and students to visit the site and witness the ongoing process as well as study the traditional techniques in building with earth.
